Anti Rust Gesture

Hello all. Or to whoever still gets to visit my blog. I squeezed this gesture during some waiting time from everyone's favorite resource place, The Sartoralist. Been a little busy, on & off the past couple of months with work related stuff (freelancing has it's ups & downs) and i've been feeling a little left out & rusty with my figure drawing lately, so i felt the need to create something that's non-work related. It came in the form of this quick little gesture. I think need to got more of these out.

Underdog: Striving Boxers of Manila

I helped out a friend earlier today and illustrated a page for his upcoming book (and thesis). It's about local boxers and their struggles for fight preparation and stuff. It's all really just gestures but I think it'll work well for the book's layout. Here's the illustration!

Sammy Davis Jr.

There's really not much explanation for this. I don't even really know the guy actually, a friend just made me watch a video of him on youtube last night and his face just happened to be my cannon fodder reference for doodling before bed. They're all just little thumbnail drawings from my notebook, I painted them digitally earlier today.

sometimes, things don't go as you expect them to..

and there's just nothing you can do to make it feel better.

New Year Gestures

We didn’t get to do much for New Year, just stayed home and watched the fireworks outside from our rich neighbors. I’m not complaining, I kinda enjoyed just celebrating it in the comfort of our home this year.

I did some gesture drawings online, I'm happy cause I think i'm finally starting to get the hang of it and I can draw them without being all too rendery and re-touchy.

(yes, i just invented those two words)

=)

And this is just a random portrait, just for variation.
