Live Art Show

Today turned out to be a really happy day.
We did a live mural/doodling/painting show at rockwell.
I'm not exactly the type who likes to be watched
while working on a piece, but this one was okay.

I think one thing that artists can sometimes forget when they get too caught up in the technicalities of their craft, is the wonderful feeling of when somebody appreciates your work.

After getting used to so much "professionalism" in the creative field, I kind of learned how to not care about what people think of my work anymore, so long as I get the client/director/whoever is in charge's approval, or if i know that what I did is good for my portfolio. Also, I tend to get too critical about.. well, a lot of things.

I forgot how good it feels to hear genuinely nice words from random people passing by upon seeing your work.

Earlier today while I was painting, a mom who was with her five year old daughter walked up to me and said "my daughter really likes your work!" and smiled at us.

"Hi! What's your name?" I asked her
"KC"
"Do you like to draw?"
"Yeah but I only like to draw with crayons.."

I talked to her and her mom for a bit and then after a while they had to go.

Before they left, KC shook my hand and said thank you.

That was one of the simplest but greatest rewards I've received in a while.

Day 2 coming up tomorrow! :)

Picture Me Rollin

I just wanna say

If this guy died before you were born, I don't think you should be calling yourself a 90's kid.

Local Skaters

Got to meet some pretty sick skaters at the village park today. One of them had really cool socks.

Maia's 1st Birthday!

Time flies too fast! It's already been one year since my older sister gave birth (check out scribbles from the hospital) to her first child, also my first niece, and I can't believe she's already turning 1 year old today!

This is the birthday invitation that they had me do for her birthday.

Happy birthday Maia! Don't grow up too fast!

And we'll be printing out stickers too! These little things get me really happy & excited. Haha.

Bike Lady

I figured maybe i should start putting a little bit more effort into my artworks instead of the usual 10 minute or so gestures & sketches. So here's a start.

Anti Rust Gesture

Hello all. Or to whoever still gets to visit my blog. I squeezed this gesture during some waiting time from everyone's favorite resource place, The Sartoralist. Been a little busy, on & off the past couple of months with work related stuff (freelancing has it's ups & downs) and i've been feeling a little left out & rusty with my figure drawing lately, so i felt the need to create something that's non-work related. It came in the form of this quick little gesture. I think need to got more of these out.
